Sunday morning @ St John’s River Park & Friendship Fountain

We went to St. John’s river park this morning and visited the amazing Friendship fountain!
The tallest fountain in the world when opened – The fountain and park were designed by Jacksonville architect Taylor Hardwick in 1963 and opened in 1965. The fountain’s three pumps could push 17,000 US gallons (64,000 L) of water per minute up to ten stories in height.
Wish we had a proper camera with us (and not just phones) as this was amazing this morning in the sun! Well worth a visit if you’re in downtown Jacksonville.
Imagine this would be awesome with the lighting at night.
We were so hot from the fountain watching – we stopped for a drink at The River City Brewing company, we sat in the covered bar area and listened to reggae music feeling like we were on holiday!
