Soooo… Wednesday afternoon we set off on our road trip to St. Augustine.
Here are various photos Angel captured on my phone as I was driving…
She also made this video
We arrived at our hotel to find we had the most comfiest beds in the world… And complimentary cucumber water..
The first afternoon/evening we went out for a walk around the old town, and down the streets, a lot of which we’re being dug up and renovated preparing for a visit from the pope.
We had dinner in a near little place called barefoot bills, although there was no one named bill or without shoes.
Angel had her favourite – a hot dog!
On the way back we walked up the front and over a massive bridge (which lifts up… I don’t know how to describe it but will research and let you know!)
On Thursday after breakfast at an ACTUAL CAFE – first one we’ve found since being here!! We walked up the front to the fort.
Or castle San de marco as it is known here.
We spent a good hour and a half at the castle – which was VERY different to castles in the UK.
Also, as well as maintaining it they seem to modernise it a bit too, adding wooden doors, some windows and some SUPER POSH guest toilets.
After the castle we spent the rest of the afternoon at the fountain of youth and the national park there – more on that in the next post!!
We went on the red train tour around to the colonial area and spent some time walking in the Sun.
We then went back to the hotel where we managed to find the swimming pool and swim there for a bit before dinner.
Should definitely mention this FREE salad from Als pizza restaurant!!
We were all zoinked from the busy week so had a super early night.
After our showers we noticed some more of Angel’s hair has come out.
I keep telling her it’s a good job she’s got some bald patches because she looks so healthy and awesome no one would know she’s had 8 weeks of treatment or got a brain tumour!!!
This is what it looks like from the back now
