After our last trip to St.Augustines I was contacted by a lovely man called Kit Keating who is the assistant manager at The Fountain of Youth National Park.
He emailed me about Angel’s journey here in America and invited us back to the park free of charge, and wanted to buy us lunch (see everyone keeps feeding us!!!) at the five flags cafe!
So on our second day in St. Augustines we went on the red train back to the Fountain on Youth.
This time our trip was totally different, for starters it was a lot quieter and less crowded going on a week day. We were given guest explorer stickers at the front entrance… And walked to the fountain/spring!
We met an informative tour guide who explained the history of the spring and the well to us, and of course we all had another drink from the fountain. Bev and I thought it tasted ick! But we had a big cup full because you know… We’re not spring chickens!
We spent a few hours walking around the park and Angel doing various poses in front of things…
It was so nice of Kit to invite us back!!
We spent ages just walking around and looking at everything. There was so much to learn and do, we had a lovely lovely time doing lots of cool things which included….
Learning how pottery was made (in this heat!)
Walking over the viewing area to watch the fish… And the heron eating the fish…
Kit took Angel up the tower!!
And of course we enjoyed our lovely lunch
So thank you so much for inviting us, for our tickets, lunch, but mostly our great afternoon in St. Augustines and enhancing Angel’s radiation vacation!!
A great afternoon out!
